Here we go!

Well, here we go.... again.

Several years back I used this blog site as a way to keep in touch with others. I have decided to use it now as a way to write as God leads. I pray that God will challenge and change my heart to be more like Him every day. As a result, I hope He will give me challenges to share with others. I believe deeply that God gave us one another and that we are to spur one another on to seek God deeper and to challenge one another to be more like Christ in our personal life and in our families. We are a bunch of imperfect people following a perfect Savior. The more we learn from one another, the more successful we will be in this life. The more we learn about Christ, the brighter we will shine in this world.

I named the blog "Growing in Grace and Truth" because I think that is what we should always be doing - growing in God's grace and truth. I am SO grateful (as are others that are close to me, ha) that I am not the person I was ten years ago or even five years ago. God has continued to refine and mold me to be more like him. He is surely not finished refining me but my desire is to continue to deepen my understanding of His grace and know His truths deeper.

Many times when I write, it is the overflow of what God has been doing in my own life. I desire to challenge others with the hopes that they can avoid some of the pits I have fallen into or to encourage them to press on toward things of Christ. Other times I write when my heart is overwhelmed with struggles those in The Church are walking through. We know that Satan only seeks to destroy. That's why it is important that we walk this life together with grace and truth.

So here we go! Some things I share might be new. Others might be things written in the past but appropriate for this time.

May we grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ together. May we shine His grace and truth to the world around us!

To God be the glory for the things He has done and will continue to do!

The Perfect Garden - Take Two...or Three

I love to garden!  Whether it's planting and tending my herb garden, planting in the raised beds, or filling up our large garden, it always excites me.  For the last two years I took the time to plan out the exact garden we wanted on graph paper. I  measured out each crop into needed space leaving enough room for the rototiller to come through between sections.  I made sure companion crops would be planted near one another so we could have the best possible outcome.  All of the seeds were purchased and organic fertilizer had been ordered and was ready to use.  Summer of 2023 arrived.  We were able to plant everything according to plan.  All the raised beds were full.  Trays of herbs were growing and would soon be added to the herb garden.  The large garden had been tilled up by Tim and time was taken to measure out each section before all of the seeds went in.  Sweet corn, tomatoes, squash, different types of melons and beans all fi...

Pets, Protection, and Loving Passionately

Ephesians 5:1-2 Shortly after I arrived home on Friday Tim pulled me aside to let me know our mama cat had been hit by a car and did not survive.  He knew it had been a hard day, that my emotions were on overload, and that it would be hard news especially since she left behind a litter of kittens.  I was so sad.  The mama was a great cat and super mom to her kittens.  Not only had we lost our pet, but now we had 4 orphaned kittens that were only two weeks old.  My sadness was quickly overcome with my mama instinct to do everything we could to save those sweet kittens.
